An Instant Pot makes these Individual Mason Jar Apple Crisps super-easy to make. Caramel sauce and ice cream are optional, but highly encouraged!
Ingredients
2 large SweeTango apples, peeled, cored, and cut into large chunks
6 Tbsp apple juice, divided
Spice Blend
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp of ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg
Crisp Topping
3/4 cup of old fashioned oats
1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
1/3 cup of light brown sugar
1/4 cup of flour
1/2 tsp of sea salt
Optional: Caramel Sauce and/or Ice Cream for topping, plus SweetTango wedges for garnish
Instructions
Make the Spice Blend. Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, cinnamon and set aside.
Create the topping. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter and then add in the oats, brown sugar, flour, and salt. Mix well and set aside until cool.
Divide the chopped apples between three quart-size glass canning jars, filling each roughly 3/4 of the way. Add 1 Tbsp of the spice blend and 2 Tbsp apple juice to each jar and shake to coat apples. Top each with ¼ cup of the topping.
Place the wire trivet into the Instant Pot and add 1 cup water.
Place the three filled jars (without lids) onto the trivet, secure the lid and hit “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” High Pressure for 8 minutes. Allow a natural release.
Remove jars from Instant Pot and let sit for 10 minutes. (The crisps are HOT!)
To serve, top with caramel sauce and/or ice cream as preferred.
