Fans of SweeTango apples are eagerly awaiting this fall’s harvest. In Michigan, TV station WZZM in Grand Rapids captured the excitement in a news report on Wednesday.
The station caught up with Ken Hubert at Summit Farms in Kent City, Mich. Summit Farms is a member of Next Big Thing, A Growers Cooperative, which grows and markets SweeTango apples.
“It’s been a very good year so far,” Hubert told WZZM. “Good pollination, no frost this spring, we’ve had a lot of rain, so size is good.”
Hubert said apple lovers should look for SweeTango in stores in early September.
“It’s a firm apple, juicy, early. I just think people are really going to like it,” he told the station.
